Her approach helps to foster understanding and communication within families, facilitating healing for everyone involved.
  2. Family-Based Treatment (FBT): FBT is a structured, evidence-based treatment for adolescents with eating disorders that actively involves family members in the recovery process. Elizabeth guides families in supporting their loved ones while promoting healthy eating behaviours.
  3. MANTRA (Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults): This approach is designed specifically for adults with anorexia nervosa. It emphasises the importance of understanding the psychological factors related to the disorder and encourages clients to engage in their own recovery process with the support of their families and therapists.
  4. Carer Skills Sessions: (Maudsley Collaborative Carer Skills approach): These sessions are offered as a weekly series helping parents build sequentially on care skills and allowing the opportunity to get support and further training on caring for their child and themselves during parent-lead eating disorder recovery. (*minimum of 3 sessions recommended)
  5. Narrative Therapy: This therapeutic modality focuses on helping clients re-author their personal stories and experiences. Elizabeth supports individuals in exploring and reshaping the narratives that influence their identities, empowering them to create more positive and fulfilling life stories.
  6. Guided Drawing: Elizabeth incorporates guided drawing as a means of expression and exploration. This non-verbal approach allows clients to tap into their creativity, facilitating insights and emotional release that can be difficult to articulate through words.
  7. Creative Arts-Based Therapy: By integrating various forms of art into therapy, Elizabeth enables clients to explore their feelings and experiences in a dynamic way. This modality can enhance self-expression and promote healing through creativity.
  8. Bibliotherapy: Elizabeth utilizes bibliotherapy to recommend literature and written resources that resonate with her clients’ experiences. Reading can provide new perspectives, insights, and comfort, fostering personal growth and self-reflection.
  9. Brainspotting: This innovative therapy technique focuses on the connection between the eyes and the brain to help clients process trauma and emotional pain. Elizabeth guides clients in identifying specific eye positions that can unlock and release deep-seated emotional experiences.
  10. Clinical Hypnosis: Elizabeth employs clinical hypnosis as a tool for relaxation and accessing the subconscious mind. This modality can be effective in addressing anxiety, enhancing motivation, and promoting positive behavioural changes.
